MULTI-FACIAL dir. vin diesel
Erick Avari
I don't know his actual story, but I like to think that Erick Avari figured out early on that casting directors were often ignorant and he could just show up to nearly any brown ethnic casting and make some bank. Google says he's portrayed at least 24 ethnicities. Ha!
Vin Diesel wrote, directed and starred in a short that caused him to be cast into that Spielberg movie that started his Hollywood career. It was called "Multi-facial." He plays a multi-racial actor going to casting calls. I wonder what Avari thought of that short if he ever saw it. Really great if you ever have a chance to see it! That short and A Man Apart are, for me, Vin Diesel's two greatest roles. I loved him in other stuff, but those two really showcased his full range.
Heh, I wonder if they've ever been in the same movie ...
You need to stop what you're doing and go watch Taz Skylar's short film "MULTIFACIAL"
This movie called #MultiFacial made #VinDiesel famous, and it taught me sometimes you can be the best actor in the room, but you may not get the part. youtu.be/Gf4Ydp8CGk8 however this role led him to be cast in the Green Mile. With that being said you just never know. (at Chattanooga, Tennessee) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5hLWK8noJd/?igshid=6nbz0tilpj1x
Regular... Not too light, not too dark
Goodnight smooch from me and Vin Diesel.

I’ve always been a fan of Vin Diesel’s films, but when I saw this movie about 5 or 6 years ago, I respected Vin Diesel so much more as an artist.
People don’t think he’s a good actor but i disagree. I just think he stopped creating different characters because playing the same type of guy is what brings in money.
I sort of relate to the not being “black or dark enough” to play certain characters.
Ignore the questionable title, and check out Vin Diesel's short film on being a mixed race actor in all of its cheesy 90's glory.
