How to bind multiple inputs to 1 value in KnockoutJS

I worked on a project where the user can edit a value via a dropdown list or via a text box.

I used KnockoutJS and needed to bind 2 types of inputs to one observable.

I actually tried doing this but the second bound input always got an “undefined” value.

So what I did was make 2 observables for each of the 2 inputs and I made the first observable subscribe to the second observable.

Example:

In your ViewModel:

Now, whenever I edit the second input, the first input updates with it. No extra fluff!
