Sustainable Tourism: Multi sensorial experience in Los Yungas
Some purposes with low environmental impact to the territory and with high level of emotion for the tourists.
-Trekking in the National park Cotapata, where tourists can smell flowers, listen sound of animals and see them.
- Trekking in the precolombino paths to observe the changing landscapes
- Participate to the production (touch) of coca leaves and coffee. Also, tourists can learn how to chewing coca leaves, drink coca tea and coffee freshly made. (taste)
- Tourists can learn more about the fauna-flora of Los Yungas in the Animal refuge center. They can assist the voluntaries on their daily duties, taking care of endangered animals. (touch-feeling)
- Participate on some locals traditions and special holidays. For instance 23rd Sept and 20th Oct where people celebrate with typical dances and music (listen and see)
-Encourage social eating and home-stay to have more contact with local culture (taste -feeling).
-Try the zip line (100m) in the “Vertical Park” and/or pass by the “death road” by bike or bus . (Feeling adrenaline)
To become this place into a sustainable tourist destination, with advantages for locals and tourists, is extremely necessary a DMO, to invest in an official website, to be present on Bolivia tourism website. Also partnership with sustainable associations and specific OTAs.
