One more chapter down, twenty more to go. Barbara sighed and quickly checked over her paper once more for any typos or errors. Unfortunately, she found a few. The struggles of using the typewriter. Oh well, nothing she couldn’t white out and re-type later. She was sitting at her desk in her office, nearly done with her second book, a follow up to rather popular novel about the life and times of Alexander the Great. With a few ‘personal’ touches in the narrative, of course. This time she decided to focus on Marco Polo’s journey. Though she was struggling to keep her own personal bias out of it.
“Mummy?” The little voice of her three year old daughter took Barbara out of editing mode. Sabetha was sitting on her lap, looking up and smiling, a blue crayon in her left hand and piece of colouring paper in the other. “Lookie!” She said, holding out the paper to her mother.
Barbara took the picture from Sabetha and saw a scribbled picture of a blue rectangle, yellow wave-like things coming from all around it, white little squares near the top. Her daughters interpretation of the TARDIS.
“That looks beautiful, darling! Is that the TARDIS?” Her daughter nodded and giggled. “My, it looks just like it.”
