Ian vs. Barbara’s Cardigans
I like to imagine this sort of stuff still happens, but for slightly more mundane reasons, in BarbarIan’s post-TARDIS life.
Ian’s home sick one day with a nasty cold, Barbara comes home to find him draping her cardigan over his head and a bowl of hot soup to capture the steam and clear his sinuses.
They go on a family nature ramble in the early spring, and it’s a warm enough day that Barbara’s carrying her cardigan rather than wearing it. Ian: Oh, let me carry that for you, darling. Barbara: You’re so sweet. *hands him cardigan* And they walk on, and ten minutes later Barbara actually turns to look back at him and sees that he’s basically turned the cardigan into a sling for carrying a dozy little John. Barbara: *Disgruntled frown* Ian: What? He’s heavy for two years old!
Aww yes, this so happens! It also could be a fic series ‘1001 things to do with Barbara’s cardigan’ lol
