“The area’s evacuated,” said Saitama, gesturing to the street around them. “You can fight if you wanna. I won’t let it hurt you.”

Mumen sighed and shook his head. “I better not…”

“Hey. Look at me.” Saitama grabbed his hand. They looked at each other and Saitama stared into his eyes--or his best guess at Mumen’s eyes behind the goggles, anyway--and clasped his hand firmly. “Together, we can do this.”

“Saitama, you don’t have to say that,” said Mumen with a small smile, “You can do it on your own.”

Saitama’s intense gaze faltered. He thought for a moment then shrugged. “Yeah, but we can do it together too, right?”

Mumen laughed. “Guess you’re right.” He kicked up his kickstand with a grin. “Don’t hog all the fun parts!”
