back at it to try out what I learned about java and jquery, my sorta-free theme number 10:
multimuse videogame-style theme!
sorta free because the suggested price is one ko-fi (2 euro) but if you can't spare it you can use the theme anyway!
usual disclaimers: don't remove credits nor claim as yours, edit as you please, like or reblog if you take (or just if you like it <3) and the link with static preview and pastebin is in the source of this post.
this blog was thought for multimuses but you can use it for whatever you want - could be about your favorite things or about your other blogs, but in any case your readers will get a big preview of whatever you want to showcase straight from your homepage.
the main point of this theme is that if you click on any of the square images in the navicolumn then the corresponding bigger image and description will appear in the preview column, see the first gif! explanations are after the read more and all over the html editor, my script does everything, you just need to type in what you want.
my thanks yous and credits go to:
@eggdesign for the night-button mode (this blog is in dark mode by default so I ended up making it a day-button!) and the aksbox button colors
@glenthemes for npf posts fix and optional searchbar
@bychloethemes for blockquotes with alternating colors
@shythemes for minimal soundcloudplayer, video resizing fix, pxu photosets, lightboxes
@octomoosey for tooltips and (a modified) tumblr music player styling (in this blog you can type in the background colors for dark and light mode)
@annasthms for the unnested captions look (which I made optional and divided them in textposts ones and all other posts so roleplayers can pick what works best for them)
and fontawesome, cappuccicons, 1001fonts, googlefonts.
also: the blog is very responsive (down to the smallest screens) as you can see on the third gif, and has animated titles - the animation of the blog title changes depending on the screen size because the typing look can’t happen if there isn’t enough space for it. If you add custom pages their links will automatically show under the navigation ones. Tumblr controls are semitransparent and small until hovered. More under read more!
you'll need some knowledge of html to edit this theme: many things can be edited from the customization page, like enabling the searchbar and the unnested captions, or picking colors, font for the body (a long list so you know what’s already in the blog and can be used if you want to edit more fonts in the html editor) and the base font-size (most fonts will resize accordingly, for example the title of your post will always be double the size of your post text), select the post-width, write the temporary description and temporary image in the third column and more, BUT you need to go to the html to:
-write the description of each of your characters and their two images: one that will appear as a 100x100 icon in the navicolumn and a bigger one (250x350) for the preview column. See example below.
-write your navigation links (right now they are home, ask and link 3), this way you can add as many as you want. they are in the "navilinks" section, just search for "/ask".
there are plenty explanations all over the code and examples, so it's a lot easier than it looks.
I also added templates to make editing easier so here's an example of what you'll find in the code:
<!-- start of character four -->
<img class="square" src="/" style="background-image:url('REPLACE THIS with the url of the image you want to appear in the big preview');" >
<div>write here the text you want to make appear in the preview column, which shows when you click on the corresponding image. If you want to add links remember to keep them and everything else inside these div tags, the script will ONLY copy what's inside the first div (technically whatever is inside the first 'sibling' of the class square). <br>To style the potential links like I did in the previous example you can use the class="minilinks" inside the a href="" tag, like this:
<br>
<a href="/" class="minilinks">another example link</a>
</div>
<!-- end of character four -->
you can see this if you click around when in the static preview too!
-optionally you can go and change font-families and font-size for whatever element you don't like and add more specific color-choices if you don't like the default ones or you can keep what you have. This because I chose some main colors that repeat around the blog, like columnsbg is the background for both columns, or mainborders is the color for the borders of your container and columns, and maybe you want to make everything different.
optional ask tab , optional muse tab , nav tab regardless . nav tab has nine links , a spot for dates , and a spot for an rp summary . muse tab can have unlimited muses and optional popup has a spot for biography / quick stats / etc . as well as up to five links . some coding knowledge is required for the dates & muse tab / popups but most things are customizable without touching the code .
preview :::: pastebin (raw)
note: this theme is centered but not in a container.

text input description or meta description option along with small caps and uppercase description toggles.
borders, grayscale posts and uppercase tags toggles are also available!
i might’ve forgotten something but there’s a lot there!
by pop-up.
about pop-up: four user details for your information or updates. three photos (one larger and two icons). you also have the option to display four, eight or twelve links. there’s even an option to have no navigation at all.
muses pop-up: the option for either four, eight or twelve muses. you also have the option to have each muse be linked. hovering over image also displays the muses name. both of these can be inputted through the customize page.
recommendations.
make sure you’ve enabled only ONE ask or permalink style. having both will mess up the theme and it won’t appear as it should.
if something isn’t working (i.e. toggle is enabled but not working) then please disable, reable and then refresh your page. all should be well.
if you’re enabling the toggles for the 12 navigation links or 12 muses then make sure the eight option is also enabled or it won’t show!
photo sizes.
there will be place holders when you install the theme, but for reference:
sidebar icon: 55 x 55.
about pop-up: 120x120 for the main image and 50x50 for the two smaller images.
> don’t redistribute, remove or move the credit in ANY way.
> don’t use it as a base code. edit as much as you want, though.
> don’t claim the theme as your own regardless of the amount of editing you do.
> be a decent person and all is well, basically!
any glitches or things i missed? let me know! but i suggest trying to google any questions you may have before asking me! it’s much easier to do that than wait days for me to answer.
this is my third theme in three days... i think that’s a record? idk, i just have a lot of inspiration at the moment. this one is designed to be a mumu theme, but you could easily edit the ‘muses’ part of the tab to say ‘locations’ or ‘links’ or whatever else you want. it’s also pretty simple & very easy to edit, although you do have to go into the html to edit the muses section of the tab.
FEATURES :
350px posts
sidebar image ( 150 x 560 )
sidebar icon ( 100 x 100 )
title
lots of body font options
tab with :
‘search bar’
image ( 180 x 270 )
7 links
muses box ( scrolls )
RULES :
please don’t remove the credit ! it helps other people to know where your theme came from, which helps me and them. it’s also small and unobtrusive — i swear, you won’t even notice it’s there.
don’t redistribute it, edited or unedited ! this breaks copyright laws & my trust !
you’re welcome to edit it for personal use, but i will not supply you with support if you break it in the process.
so i'm creating like a side blog where i can put my retired muses and still kinda keep em active yknow ?? anyone know of any good mumu themes ?? or any themes thatll make it easy to keep tags and everything organized for multiple muses
