Saw this on @chronicparagon’s blog and thought it looked fun. :)
i chose red because that’s Joe‘s color—or, at least, the color I associate him with. Plus, his gloves are red, he wears a red shirt, he has red light trails from his eyes, and he bleeds a lot. I also feel that red represents Joe’s passion and drive to achieve his goals, as well as his determination and strength.
I chose the cat on the street because that represents Joe’s spirit animal/animal motif of a stray dog. He’ll wander on his own, but then come home to those who love him. I chose the leaves because it reminded me a little of the wind that blows in the desert that Joe rides his bike in.
I put sugar on the top because Joe is nicer than the Joe that he is based on, Joe Yabuki. He initially starts out cynical and bitter, but he eventually grows out of that mindset. He also has a big heart and cares deeply for those around him. I put the red fruit (maybe it’s an olive?) on the drink because it reminded me of the apple that he ate in episode 3. I chose the orange string because I thought it would contrast with the red of the drink, and I remembered that Joe has a bright orange line on his pants.
I chose an outside background for the drink because the lights reminded me of the lights of Megalonia—far away, at least, from the slums that Joe lives in, but close enough that he can see and reach them.
