"hold on please" (sarcastically) - chara
It was a beautiful day outside. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming. And Sans was dying. Nevertheless he’d always make sure to mention the contradictory beauty of this day before their dance was to begin anew.
He’d cite it, each time he’d hear their childlike steps tumble through that accursed corridor. Each time they’d dismiss his warning and cross that point of no return. That point of forever return.
But even birds stopped singing at the end of the world, didn’t they? And flowers lost their petals at the beginning of winter.
Every creature died alone, wise men had once said.
Not him, though, not them, and inside his murderer’s embrace, he felt his body go limb, losing, surrendering to that bleeding gash across his ribcage and that sick pleasure that glinted within their wine-red gaze.
A gaze that made his spine crawl with disdain and fear.
“what. you’ll miss me or something?”, he sneered. “…heh. that’s strange. ‘cause we’re just gonna end up like this over and over again anyway, aren’t we, f r e a k?“
The word lingered between them, cutting like the bloodied knife in their hand. Heavy like the silence that followed. Yet, no answer in the world could have made this any easier on Sans, and his eyelights darted past that crazed smile and expression, as he regurgitated more of his determination.
“sorry, papyrus”, he breathed, feeling his soul splittering inside his chest, “guess i’ll be late to grillby’s.”
…
Their footsteps echoed through the hallway, filling it with eerie, misplaced noise. Sans looked outside the window.
It’s a beautiful day outside…
He cited.
Birds are singing… Flowers are blooming…
On days like these… Kids like you…
Should be burning in hell.
Six word stories for Lapis: Hopes shattered and she chose destruction. Home changed - she belonged nowhere now. She refused the name everyone forgot. (Speculation - did you even wonder who I used to be? Lapis was important, probably royalty once, but the Homeworld doesn't remember or need her when she's back. Everything's advanced and out of her reach... Slowly losing herself in Malachite, she was the last one to forget about Lapis Lazuli - "I'm not Lapis anymore. We're Malachite now.")
((Whoa.))
