Bald Neu . Munich . Germany I have to say I find it pretty amazing that it's becoming easy to find great coffee in most cities; all you need is a quick google search and a map... which incidentally is how I found the excellent Bald Neu near Kolumbusplatz in München. It was great to be the only non-native in the place, adding to the feeling of an authentic local experience; while at the same time being a very familiar one in that many of the typical 'third wave' quirks that I'm used to were in full effect in Bald Neu - minimal interior, La Marzocco espresso machine and flat white on the menu. The Flat White was delicious - a wonderfully complex espresso base with excellent microfoam milk - a tremendous coffee experience in this wonderful Bavarian City. Danke!
