Getting ready for iOS7, I've been working on an updated version of the Muniverse app icon.
My Coupe
The Muniverse Blog
As if I really need another blog about Muni...
I've started a Muniverse blog to go along with the nextbus arrival times app my friend Nick O'Neill and I built.
It'll be a handy place for us to post information about Muniverse for iPhone but also gives me a place to post photos of the historic streetcars, reblog interesting things I find, drive more traffic to download the tap, and make my own blog a little less transit-specific.
Muniverse App Web Site Revamp
A few months ago when [Nick](http://nickoneill.name) and I released a new version of our NextMuni arrival times app I also redesigned the [Muniverse web site](http://iphone.muniverse.info) to go along with it. It's been a while since I've written a page from scratch used the chance to brush up on some rusty HTML/CSS skills. The only Internet Explorer issue was borders on the images (I'd forgotten about that) and only took little bit more work to make it [validate as HTML5](http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fiphone.muniverse.info%2F&charset=utf-8&doctype=HTML5&group=0&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.3) (or it will once its updated to recognize the Windows 8 tags) and that made the nerd in me very happy.
Contending with a taller iPhone 5
Today Apple announced both a new iPhone and iPod Touch featuring a taller, 16:9 screens. Being a designer and developer, with a new version of a transit arrival time app, Muniverse, under development, the biggest question I had was how would the new iPhone 5's taller screen going to effect me? Since most of Muniverse's screens are lists, iOS handles it automatically by just showing more of the items on the list. The only place you run into trouble is if you have full screen graphics that now need to be taller to fit the entire screen. Muniverse has one, the launch screen, and that is already taken care of. We're about to start beta testing. Would you like to join our beta pool? Email me, and ask for an invite. (An iPhone or iPod Touch running iOS 5.1 or later will be required)
