//Real quick, this is something that’s been bothering me- more so when I see the analysis of a good man v a perfect soldier when comparing Walker and Sam. And it’s this one thought- they really did the Sam dirty at the end of Endgame if that’s the only conversation they are going to imply Sam and Steve had about the shield this show.
And I say this because Steve got reassurance before he became a super soldier, he always had that reminder that he wasn’t meant to the the perfect soldier but the good man. I am not saying that this would negate Sam’s thoughts around accepting the shield, those reasons are still valid and always will be, especially after Isaiah. But it not only shows that some how Steve literally stopped giving a fuck, he knew Sam and as Sam pointed out he from the beginning was hesitant. If Steve really wanted Sam to take it, he would have talked it over with Sam or said more to him. But also, it would have helped Sam on another level- and again I still think Sam would have thought the right thing to do was to give up the shield, but emotionally and mentally a piece of him might have settled that somehow he was worthy and his work and character were recognized by someone he looked up, etc. Idk it just rubs me the wrong way they don’t seem to be adding much about Sam and the shield between the show and Endgame.
