Roger and Bree Munro Bagging, A Modern AU
“Yes—but maybe I only thought so because of hiking in the mountains. I used to do that with Dad.”
“Did you? I used to do that with my dad, as well. If you come back to Scotland ever, I’ll take ye Munro bagging.”
“You’ll take me what?”
He laughed, and she had a sudden memory of him, brushing back the thick black hair that he didn’t cut often enough, moss-green eyes creased half-shut by his smile. She found she was rubbing the tip of her thumb slowly across her lower lip, and stopped herself. He’d kissed her when they parted.
“A Munro is any Scottish peak more than three thousand feet. There are so many of them, it’s a sport to see how many you can climb. Folk collect them, like stamps, or matchbooks.”

Buachaille Etive Mor looking formidable this week. Still, managed to climb this beauty in under 7 hours round trip! Definitely one of the most impressive walks in Scotland with fabulous views over Glen Coe and Glen Etive.
This weekend was so much better than I could have hoped for 🥰
Making Saturdays food and a huge batch of hot coco for us all w J on friday was hella cute :')
Introduced her to Burniston so we were sitting doubled over on my new sofa watching it 😊
The car journey up north was full of bant and top notch tunes 👌🏻 although was a pain to arrive where we were camping in the dark, we did manage to build the tents up pretty fast!
Me and J ended up with a swimming pool in the front porch of our tent bc the tarp started collecting it 😂 sorted the issue thankfully
The highlight of the night was falling asleep holding J's hand, it's such a pure wholesome act to fall asleep holding a girls hand 🥰
The hike on saturday was blessed with good weather for the first half so that was absolutely amazing, me and J hiked half of it in our bras 😂
Sadly at the top of the Munros the weather was horrendous with non stop rain and wind that was so forceful at times that I ended up blown over to the ground 😖 the route we took over the ridges was filled with so many 'false tops' we would get so happy and relieved to finally be at the top of a point just to find out there was still a way to go 😭 that was definitely the main downside of the weekend, that and when our gloves got soaked through with the rain and made all our hands painful 😩
It sure was a challenge for the 4 of us to complete 2 munros when 2 of us hadnt done any hiking in over 2 years and the other 2 had never been hiking before 🙈
Mega proud of us finishing within the timeframe that is given to complete that hike :') I'm gnna make up and print off certificates with the names and dates of the ones we climbed for Dd and her Jn bc I'm absolutely astounded and proud most of all of them for sticking it out and completing it 🏅
The car journey home in dry clean clothes with J fast asleep, first in my lap then in my arms was so nice, we had the heating on full blast it was so toasty 😌
I slept a good 10 hours last night it was hella good ✌🏻 and been such a nice day wrapped up on the new sofa either watching my new fav lesbian show on the tv or napping 💕
