🐎 EXTRAORDINARY ANIMALS OF MURAN . Muranska planina is a National Park in the mid-east of Slovakia. It is a big plateau rising in some areas more than 600m above the rest of landscape. Of course, plateau is not flat, it is rugged with small hills and valleys. . Some animals living here are hardly seen anywhere else. Ground squirrel is one of them. Donkeys are eating grass on a huge meadow. Thanks to them, grass is very low and these small and cute animals have enough view to see any danger. Their families are thriving there. Few kilometers further in the mountains are living semi-wild horses called Norik. Z B O J S K A . Famous mountain pass called Zbojska. . Raiders were stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. That is very common to be heard when you talk about history of Slovak mountains. . Tomas Surovec was one of such raiders. To catch him, this Zbojska settlement with pub was built on a strategical road connecting two important valleys. . It was just a question of time until they caught him. I think he was hung by the neck. .
