One thing I find interesting about N is that he never changed his personality. N is a people pleaser and wants to do what other people want while ignoring himself, and he tried to please J and V by killing and yet he never was a cold, sadistic killer. If he'd taken on a personality like that and dropped all sillyness by highly masking, I actually think that J would have accepted him. Did he ever wonder if V would like him if he was more like her? A murderer? (she probably wouldn't have btw, she'd just be upset that he's lost his personality like she did.)
But he never did. Even though it would have made J happy.
In a way it almost reminds me of Uzi. She never masked her personality (TO AN EXTENT), even though she never fit in. She kept on being weird even though no one liked it+she was bullied for it. Or she could have, way earlier on, pretended to like doors so Khan would love her.
But neither of them really tried to FULLY mask their weirdness. I think that's kinda cute <3
