N's far smarter than people realise when they meet him for the first time. You could genuinely make the argument that N is the smartest drone on Copper 9.

N's intelligence is a product of his life on Earth. The Elliot Manor library was, as is often the case with the rich and powerful, stocked with a wealth of human wisdom that its owners never bothered using. For the Elliots, the Library was a flex. A pretence of culture and learning. Dusted regularly to hide the truth of its disuse.

Before N came along, the only time anyone ever entered the place was Tessa's homeschooling. Even then, Tessa's tutors brought their own material and were terrible teachers besides.

When Tessa salvaged N she encouraged him to find a hobby, as she did with all her drones. J took to traditional art like a fish to water, V adored fashion, often using Tessa as a model for her creations and N loved to read.

He's studied History and Philosophy; Economics and Anthropology; Politics and Rhetoric and yes, A LOT of Zoology. Though certainly less qualified than Uzi or many other drones in specific fields the breadth of N's understanding is second to none, a regular renaissance man.

N's favourite book is 101 dog breeds: The comprehensive visual guide to dogs! J gave it to N and asked him to figure out which breed he was in an attempt at mockery which of course flew right over his head.

J would later regret enkindling a love of reading in N when he discovered the Socratic Method and proceeded to spend a week (accidentally) annoying literally everyone in the Manor. Stopping only when he tried to turn the method on James Elliot and almost got fucking murdered.

Saw something today and it made me think.

SD-N probably doesn’t know how to apologize. I doubt he was taught to besides doing it to V or J which was making himself smaller in a way.

He genuinely thought drawing a picture would be enough after he killed multiple drones and affected so many worker drone lives.

I highkey think that everyone around him is cautious or genuinely strays away from him because he’s still a monster in a way.
