Went out tonight and saw two amazing bands, one (THE EVENING WATCH) consisting solely of my friends and fellow teachers (the four who stood up for me and got me through the crap that went on this week) and one amazing band (MURDER MONROE) that is all women who fucking kicked my ass with their mash up of Policy of Truth and Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) and did not change the genders when singing a fucking insanely rocking cover of Bruce Springsteen’s I’m On Fire. Holy shit. The top picture is MM’s guitarist (who is only 23 and insisted on calling me Ma’am), me and my pal Ben who is one of the smartest, kindest men I’ve ever met who teachest Special Ed. The band fronted by the blond singer is Murder Monroe and the rest are The Evening Watch.
I got up at 9 am, went with another work ...um not really a friend but someone I go buy groceries with in the next town over where it is much cheaper even if i is nearly a two hour drive. She is....well she doens’t think a lot of others and is kinda wrapped up in her own head. So we left at 9 am, shopped, took her son to a trampoline park (I would love to try that one day but right now I am too self conscious),. She never stopped for a meal, neither lunch nor breakfast and I was too timid to ask, then I had to go straight home, put up groceries, change and leave to meet my friends in the band where I had a coffee and a caramel apple milkshake. It is almost midnight and I am just now eating my first meal of the day. Still, I had the BEST time tonight! OMG. The science teacher has the most beautiful voice. She sang a cover of Imagine and then got on stage with MM to do an epic cover of What’s Going On by 4 Non-Blondes. Ahhh!! Sooooooo good!! I’m going to eat some more pizza and then crawl into bed. It was the best night I’ve had in a long, long time!!!
