My piece ‘The Drifter’ which is in the new issue of @bubbles_zine !!! A great comics and manga fanzine coming out of Richmond, Virginia. Been listening to tons of Orville Peck recently which has led me into an inspirational vortex of researching American drifters/hobos/cowboys/outlaws, country musicians and people living on the fringes....The drifters wades a shallow swamp of society. He merges dripping desire with furious rage, he clings to the borders of states and fans the flames of your parents anxiety with his hatred of a happy household. Dogs and rats flee from his flaccid, filthy stench and cats screech and wail from the rooftops when they hear his boots striding down the alley. and  so  the  maddox  family  has  become  THE  MADDOX  GIRL,   fragile  tongue  and  petite  frame  all  to  show  for  it.   paled  pink  of  lips  tuck  together,   tone  tired  beneath  synapses  of  grief.   reality  wasn’t  something  that  she  wished  to  greet,   too  eager  to  hide  within  him  until  it  was  safe  to  come  out.     (   pitiable  thing,   hope  was.   )          ❝   i  should’ve  let  you  in.   ❞

fingers   glide   down   a   slightly   wet   glass,   her   visage  ;  lost   in   a   dazed   complexion.   daddy   is   dead, mother   is   nowhere   to   be   seen.   (  not   that   she   wants   her   to   be  )  —————  so   friends   were   a must   for   the   tragedy  -  struck   damsel.   small   gatherings  /  limited   to   the   lakewood   six.   four?   five?  she   had   trouble   keeping   up.   but   thoughts   are   interrupted   as   optics   slide   to   the   boy   across   from   her.   teeth   slightly   gnawing   on   rose   petals,   her   mind   floods   with   wonders   of   just   how   he   feels   after   the   captivation   of   the   lakewood   slasher’s   accomplice.   a   slim   frame   leans   in,   brows   ascending.

          ❝  stavo,   i’m..   i’m   sorry  you   got   wrapped   into   all   of   this  —  all   of   the   lakewood   six’s   bs.  ❞

      with her mom being transferred a GAZILLION miles from their canadian home       ;           lola had to find a NEW favourite caffeine supplier and S T A T.        easier said than done.            the teen had been here less than a week and still no luck.       ( though the amount of effort she’d put in was questionable )         really ; she didn’t want to be here.         she wanted to be in degrassi with her friends      her S I S T E R S.          the people who’d known her since kindergarten.           && the more time spent getting to know this town, the further from home she felt.         but alas, when coffee craving kicks in, it kicks H A R D.         ❝ PLEASE tell me you know somewhere a girl can get a DECENT caffeine fix around here. ❞         //            @murdercomics          ♥’d
