Murphy and Jace do often have to be super close together or else something might go extremely wrong. So when the DoD have a meeting, JACE IS JUST IN THERE TUNING HIS GUITAR and trying to ignore the awkwardness of being the only guy there. Like, Sadie frowns and she's all: "UGH, why does a BOY have to be here." and Jaci sighs: "Because last time we tried to use magic to restrain Murphy's misfortune, CORA AND I TURNED EACH OTHER INTO FROGS."

Cora: "Indeed. Murphy has a rather formidable ability. Hence why we need Jace here to cancel it out."

And like, when the girls are talking and having tea with each other, Jace not feeling right reaching for their snacks so he whispers to Murphy and he's all: "Can you make me a plate? I'm kind of nervous." and Murphy nods and fills a snack plate with all of his favorite snacks on it so he can just munch and be on his phone the entire time while Murphy tries her best to pitch in ideas for future plots.

AND THEN, LIKE, BLIGHT PLAYING CARD GAMES BUT JACK H A S TO HAVE MURPHY WITH HIM OR ELSE HE'S JUST GONNA FUCKING WIN. When they have guy's night, Murphy is the girl they invite which makes the other guys pout but also, SHE'S THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP JACK FROM WINNING. So in the middle of a game, she's sitting on his lap while they play cards and she's all: "Um, I have to pee."

Ashton: "Hold it in, darl', I'm about to pack up your boyfriend."

Jace: "We're really more friends with benefits, innit?"

Murphy: "Oh...Okay...I didn't know that..."

Jace: "What do you mean?"

Kojo: "DUDE, PLAY YOUR TURN AND THEN YOU GUYS CAN HASH OUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP DRAMA."

Jace, playing: "Yeah, yeah, okay."

Murphy: "I mean, Jace, I wouldn't follow just any bloke across the pond...You're special to me."

Jace: "And you're special to me too."

Murphy: "But not special enough to be more than a friend...with benefits...I'm sorry, guys, I think I'm going to go." and she stands up and walks away and ALL OF THE GUYS ARE ALL: "MURPHY, NO, PLEASE, COME BACK- WE HAVE GOOD CARDS THIS ROUND, PLEASE!"

But she leaves and Jace just sighs and he's all: "Sorry, I have to deal with this...oh, by the way, ROYAL FLUSH!" and all of the guys groan and Morgan slams his fist on the table while Kojo just growls: "FUCK!" and Nick is there like: "Well, at least we all have healthy relationships."

Ashton: "...Yeah, good point."

MURPHY MALCOTT AND JACE FORTUNE NIGHT but Jace and Murphy are Metropolis villains. Both of them originate from the UK and I want to re-write their family lives.

Murphy came from a very loving and caring family but, due to her powers of misfortune, it was hard for them to find jobs so her dad had to go OVERSEAS to escape her misfortune so he could make money for their family. Her mother did her best working as a hotel cleaning lady and tried her best to keep up with their house basically falling apart and all of Murphy's hospital bills for injuries and accidents.

Jace's family, however, was not very close knit. They all knew about his powers of fortune and EXPLOITED the hell out of it. He'd be tugged along to stupid work galas so his parents could get bonuses, he's get lottery tickets shoved into his face, and everyone at school had an idea about his abilities so all of his friends were fake ass people who wanted him to be their personal good luck charm.

Murphy, meanwhile, had to change school districts because she accidentally set off the fire alarm for the 13th time. Causing her to transfer to Jace's school and they both noticed that when they were near each other, their powers would cancel out. At first, Murphy was the first one to extend the hand of friendship and Jace wasn't interested because he thought Murphy was after him for his luck and eventually he ran out of patience with her and was all: "LOOK, I DON'T GET WHY YOU WANT TO BE FRIENDS. MY POWERS DON'T EVEN WORK FOR YOU!"

Murphy: "That's fine! I don't want to be friends with you for your powers...I just want to be friends with someone I know I won't hurt!" and Jace softens. Once he's with Murphy and realizes he's finally got someone who DOESN'T just want him for his powers, he does get a bit selfish and convinces Murphy to run away with him. Mostly because she feels bad for her family and tells her she'd be less of a burden if she just wasn't there entirely.

BUT ALSO, Murphy and Jace are good villains for both Boomer and Blaise because, like, Boomer obviously wins because of dumb luck and Blaise just has pure power on her side. So when Murphy and Jace come into the picture and mess up their natural luck and that their powers backfire on them so they have to try and rely on skills.

If they use their powers, either Murphy's misfortune will cause it to backfire horribly or Jace's fortune will make it so it doesn't hit him and instead hits THEM. So they key to fighting them is doing it without powers and just trying to overcome whatever crazy challenges they create. Like, Boomer is all: "Everytime I use my laser vision, it always reflects of something and nearly takes me head!"

Blaise: "UGH, I CAN'T HIT THAT LUCKY DICKHEAD."

Vincent, from his chair: "I'm afraid that you and Boomer are going to have to cooperate. Without powers."

Blaise: "UGH, I HATE BOTH OF THOSE THINGS. LIKE, A LOT, VINNY!" but then they make a plan to get Jace and Murphy together because once they're within 13 feet of each other, their powers stop working so Boomer coraling Murphy and Blaise just pretending to be running scared *she feels so humiliated and embarassed* and Jace can't help but want to taunt her. Only for her to juke him and Murphy just tripping as she runs from Boomer and falls on top of Jace.

Jace: "MURPH, GET OFF, HURRY, BEFORE THEY-"

and Blaise and Boomer stand over them with their arms crossed and very annoyed looks on their faces.

Jace: "UGH, nevermind..."

Murphy: "Um....we're REALLY sorry?"

Some brief headcanons:

- Both of them are going to be the new additions into Blight and the DoD.

- Murphy has the power to bring misfortune to herself and others around her. Jace's powers make him incredibly lucky and can effect those around him as well.

- They are going to be Metropolis villains because I don't have a lot of them so they fight Boomer and Blaise and all that.

- Their powers cancel each other out when they're within 13 feet of each other.

- Murphy was incredibly unlucky and brought awful misfortune onto her family, so she ran away from home. She eventually met Jace.

- Jace's family were incredibly greedy and liked to take advantage of Jace and his powers so when he found out about Murphy and her powers and how they cancel out his own, he decided to run away with her.

- Both of them fled to America and Jace uses his luck to provide for them. He likes to do crime for fun and kind of pressured Murphy to do it because he is the more dominant one.

- Jace has a huge crush on her but its not completely healthy considering how codependent they are on each other. He will get character development but he is very protective and possessive of Murphy.

- WILD IS ALSO CANON BUT THEY'RE GONNA BE THEIR NON-BINARY GREMLIN FRIEND. Likes to do their own thing tbh but sometimes they'll join in on their Blight/DoD missions if they seem fun.
