Yesterday I met up with a group of local hikers to hike this spot called Murphy's Ranch. The 4.5 mile trail we did goes through a former Nazi compound that was developed in th 1930's as a hideout for Nazis and Nazi sympathizers waiting for America to fall to the Third Reich. The ranch was raided by the government in 1941 and closed. Today it is uninhabited except for hikers and it is covered in bright graffiti. You will be hiking along with nothing but trees, brush, and dirt then come upon a small bunker covered in bright pinks, blues, and yellows. The hike was awesome, and getting to do it with a group of locals who were familiar with the trail and also just fun people to hang out with was even better.
