Muryans and a Correction
Greetings! Author of the Blog here! Some time ago, maybe a year or two? Its been a while. I got an ask that wanted to know the smallest type of Faerie. At the time I told them (while in character) that it was likely the pixie. But I made note of the fact that I could be wrong about this. Recently I have discovered another bit of Folklore that describes another type of Faerie Folk called the Muryans. The Word itself means “Ants”. But in Cornish myth they were supposed to be Fae spirits who were supposed to be cursed to shrink away to the size of ants and then eventually become so small that their whereabouts and doings were lost. One story is supposed to detail how tin placed in an anthill at a certain phase of the moon would turn to silver because of these very small Faeries. Unfortunately that is all I know of these folk and as of yet have been able to find very little about them, though I am still searching for more sources. If anyone happens to have sources for them I would be very grateful. And from the sound of them they might possibly be better suited for the title of “Smallest Faerie”. Though who knows? There could be even smaller Fae.
