An: Gave me some creative freedom to write about one of my fav characters without a specific prompt! I AM STILL WORKING ON THE HASHIRA PT 2 I’M JUST STRUGGLING WITH WRITERS BLOCK HARD.

“Till.. sit still and shut up! I can’t do your nails if you keep moving.” You whined, trying to still his hand as you bring the nail file to his fingernail.

It shouldn’t be surprising that this was your idea. He would never do a whole routine on his nails for one show. Normally he just threw some black nail polish on and called it a day. And on this particular night when you saw him sloppily putting on the nail polish, you sat him down immediately and got to work. To him it wasn’t a big deal but to you it was a different story. You could not have him going out on stage with nails like that! Your boyfriend deserved to look at beautiful as he really was. After all, he always treated you like a princess so you absolutely have to return the favor. If only he wouldn’t stop fidgeting and going on and on about how totally dumb this is.

“But.. I’ve went onto stage before with my nails like normal and you never said anything then! I don’t get why you’re so.. fixated on doing them now.” He grumbled.

You sigh, beginning to file down his fingernail. “I didn’t realize that you were just.. painting them like that. No care or anything. Plus, it’ll match your outfit and look super cute.

“Sure, but couldn’t you just paint them? I don’t get why I need..” He pauses and turns to look at the side table next to the couch you two sat on. He picks up a small bottle, holding it closer to his eyes as he read it. “..cuticle oil? Why is that so important? It’s not like people are gonna be able to tell if my cuticles are..oiled.”

You giggle, moving onto his next fingernail. “It’s an important part of the process. Just hush up and let me finish this!”

He sighs as he places the bottle down, looking back to you. Even though this was completely unnecessary, he liked the attention. Plus, you looked pretty adorable to him when you were so focused.

He's quiet as you begin painting his nails, simply watching you with heart eyes. If you weren't so focused, you might see how much he seemed to adore you. He.. he really wished he had a camera on him. One of those polaroid cameras so he could take a photo of you like this. But then again, other people might see it and he really wanted to keep it for himself. So he just continues watching you with those same eyes filled with adoration.

He'll never admit that he actually likes how his nails look when they're properly painted. Never.

Charley Patton│Father of the Delta Blues.

Born in Hinds County, Mississippi close to the town of Edwards. He lived most of his life in Sunflower County, in the Mississippi Delta. Considered by many to be the Father of the Delta Blues. Popular in the Southern United States, he played in Plantations and Taverns, well known for his stage presence, he played guitar down on his knees, behind his head, and behind his back. He passed away on April 28th 1943, on the Heathman-Dedham plantation, near Indianola, his resting place is in the Holly Ridge Cemetary.

In the film he seems to be one of Sammie's favorite Delta Bluesmen.
