   he lands with an oof, shifting into a more comfortable position. a soft kiss to the forehead, and his arm comes around him.

   erwin actually finds it kind of embarrassing. his fingers tap against his thigh. he had told levi why he invited him here in the first place. it was just a question. he turns to levi, eyeing him, biting his lip as he awaits a simple response from the shorter man.

   the silence is unsettling to him; what will he say ? will levi be mad at him ? he tries to push the thoughts away, but to no avail. he leans back, running a hand through his blond hair. then he looks at levi again, still worrying what the answer would be.

    he listens to him speak. wow, hearing levi saying about exactly what he was pointing at made it sound a bit worse than it actually was. he sighs, running his hand through his hair once more.

   “ that’s correct, ” he murmurs. “ well ... because i might have lied and said i was married to someone because my mother wouldn’t stop telling me about how i needed to get married. and ... when i thought of someone who could possibly help me, you came to mind. ”

  “ alright. ” erwin adjusts himself so he can successfully reach it without bumping into the smaller man. grabbing whatever it was he needed, he handed it to him.

   erwin had found some free time to get some coffee. it was a coffee shop he’d come to once or twice before. he was tired, nothing out of the ordinary. he was a med student in college. the studying was tiring, and he was sure anyone who was or is in college could definitely agree. 

  regardless of that, he needed coffee. he’d been up almost all night studying, and it was probably one of the most time consuming things he’d been through. seeing it was his turn to order snapped him out of his reverie. 

    “ hello, mike, ” he greets with a wide grin. “ could i get a grande black coffee please? no room for cream. ”

    well, that was confirmation he was dead. he sighs.

   “ i might have ... spilled ink ??? ”

      true ... he and levi were pretty close, he’d been a bit more expressive with what he said around him -- he had made joking, maybe even hinting. regardless of what he did, he actually did wonder what it’d be like to kiss levi. he didn’t directly ask because -- well, levi was levi. he didn’t know what the response would be.

     while he was occupied with his book, he blinked when levi turned his head in his general direction, and froze when their lips met, not a very proper kiss. but .. it was good enough. his lips were soft, softer than he’d imagined. funny. “ um ... it’s been a while, ” he says, trying to keep his voice from wavering.

   “Fine. If you can call it that.” The man sniffed a little to try and rid himself of his stuffy nose. It was beyond him how he’d gotten a cold. Silence fell and then he realised…

                                                    ‘Oh right.’

   “And you?”

        “ ah, i hope you get better, levi. i’ve made you some tea. ” he sets the cup in front of the brunet before him, brows furrowing in concern. he knew his illness could get pretty bad, so he’d be the one to make sure he healed. 

      “ tired, but fairly well. do you mind if i keep you company? ” he cared deeply about his soldiers, even if he couldn’t always take care of them himself.

     Eyes train onto the other, watching him with mild interest. It was rather late, and he didn’t often see Erwin out and about at this hour. Especially not bearing “gifts.”

  “What’s the occasion?”

       “ it’s just that it’s late; i figured while i’m up i’d make you some tea. ” erwin himself was usually up pretty late -- he was a busy man. “ you should at least try to head to bed soon. ”
