Chrissy hated being back in Hawkins even for just a little bit so having to be here for a few months while she sorted out her parents estate was a freaking nightmare for the former cheerleader. Hopefully it wouldn't take as long as the lawyer thought for the house to sell so she could get back to life in Chicago but with the luck she'd been having lately it probably would never sell and she'd be stuck here until the end of time. She hadn't even tried to keep in contact with anyone because all she wanted after getting away from the Up-side down was to just get a clean slate and start a new.

After a mentally, emotionally, and physical day of going through her parents room deciding what to throw out or donate Chrissy just wanted to grab some frozen pizza before turning in for the night. Unfortunately she hadn't done any shopping so not even bothering to change from her sweats and old Hawkins t shirt she headed to the store. If her mother could see her going out in public looking like this she'd come back to life just to scream about it.

Chrissy was standing in front of the freezer section trying to figure out if she should even attempt to be healthy or say fuck it and have ice cream for dinner when she felt something bump into her foot. Turning to face the person she saw the last person she ever thought she'd see again, "Hey, Eddie. . . .and yeah, it's been a while."

It was six weeks after her con hookup that she started feeling sick but thought it had just been some bad sushi. It was eight weeks after it when Chrissy found herself staring at the plus sign on the little white stick with a feeling of absolute dread filling her entire body and her best friends voice on the phone asking what she was going to do. Honestly she had no idea exactly what she was going to do but she did know that she'd have to make a choice pretty damn quickly no matter what the outcome was going to be.

Chrissy knew she had to tell the father before he somehow found out through other channels and that's what led to her sitting in a cafe between both their places toying with a half melted smoothie. Jumping every time the door opened she finally relaxed when she saw Eddie walk over to her table, "Hey. . . . Thanks for meeting me here."

“Attention shoppers, a little girl, dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, about five three, is wearing an necklace that reads eighty six on it, wearing Hawkins high gym shorts and shirt, hair probably up in a ponytail, answers by the name of Chrissy is lost, their guardian Billy is waiting for them at the lost child center.”

This was supposed to just be a quick trip to the store to pick up a few things they needed for the day at the beach so Chrissy hadn't thought twice about telling Billy to wait in the car. After all she was perfectly capable of grabbing ice, soda, and snacks by herself so what was the point of them both coming into the building?

She was in the middle of deciding between Twinkies and Ho-Ho's when she heard the announcement coming through the speakers in the ceiling. Turning bright red when the person next to her chuckled while looking at her Chrissy shoved both boxes in the cart before heading over to the service desk where her annoying boyfriend was waiting, "You could have just come looking for me you know."

Sometimes it was easy to just hide behind the facade of a sweet blonde cheerleader so she could observe things around her. Chrissy had been doing it for years and no one had ever called her out about it until Billy & Cas blew into her life like a cyclone not afraid to call bullshit on her act. They both knew she was a lot more intelligent and observant than she let people think and while normally she'd ignore this weird feeling she knew that she couldn't this time.

Taking a deep breath she walked up to Eddie and sat down across from him at the table, she'd noticed there had been something off about him for a little while now and she wanted to get some answers. If not for her for the sweet boy she remembered him being before that night in his trailer. "Listen, I know this is going to sound weird and like I'm crazy but. . . . you're not Eddie, are you?"

"Th-anks." She sits at the steps from his trailer to the street, hugging herself with the sweater she'd been wearing. She wasn't sure why she kept going back to Eddie since that day in the park. It was almost like things felt less heavy when they spoke. All these nightmares that kept coming at her were draining her energy. She could do with a little recharge--even if it meant having a conversation at two am with someone that wasn't her boyfriend. Jason wouldn't understand. He always liked things to be 'perfect,' and this was anything but. Out of fear he'd ask her what was going on, she switched the subject to something out of left field. "Do you guys write the songs for your band, or you just do covers? I remember you guys playing at the talent show. I know you guys were good but I can't remember if it was an original song or not."

“I know. I know.” Chrissy looks down in desperation. All she wants to do is sleep. Meditation, music, going to the guidance counselor’s...nothing was working. Her body felt tired, strung out. Every moment she finally dozed off, she’d fall prey to the nightmares that kept haunting her. Sometimes it was so vivid, so cruel she couldn’t distinguish it from reality. It was even happening at school. Something had to be done, and she was quickly feeling like she was losing her mind. Pulling the knitted hat down she curled her fingers into the long sleeve of her shirt and wrapped her arms around her knees as she brought them forward to her chest. “I have to do something. You know I would never do drugs, but what else is left? It’s been two weeks like this.” Her eyes were moist but the tears hadn’t fallen just yet. “I just want to sleep and forget for a little while. Have a different dream.”
