open starter: mutuals & non-mutuals// m/f/nb opposite Wolf-King Sebastian of Desyra [30s-45, King of Desyra (think Medieval/Renaissance Spain + Portugal minus the inquisition and persecution), Guy Remmers / Lee Pace FC, bisexual, switch)] plot: Sebastian’s younger sister, Leonor, is throwing a masquerade ball to potentially spend the night with the King and become his spouse (much to his dismay). He will be fully disguised as well~ Good luck finding the king!

Sebastian was holding his face in agony, fortunately not moving his mask to reveal his identity, as he aged it of the windows of the ballroom, admittedly trying to avoid having to dance with any unwanted suitors - especially ladies just coming of age and no where near the maturity of his interest. His dear sister had organized the masquerade ball behind his back, his spies even keeping it a secret so they could have some fun with gossip.

Suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder, and turned around to face Y/M and offered a smile where his face was shown under the three-quarters mask he wore. “How can I help you? I’m guessing you’d like to dance?” he asked in a positive tone of voice, offering his hand to Y/M.

Aemma had been dreading this ball with every fiber of her being and had even gone as far as feigning illness to get out of it, unfortunately her mother and eldest sister has seen right through it. So instead of spending the evening with her books & remedies the young second born princess found herself trying to actively avoid the possibility of running into the King her family desired a match with. She'd been careful to avoid dancing with anyone more than once as to keep the chances of running into him multiple times incredibly low.

After having endured an excruciating time talking to the other young women there Aemma found her patience low and the thudding pain in her skull high. Seeing windows to a nearby balcony she almost shouted in relief at the idea of getting away from people and into the nights fresh air.

Unfortunately, it was blocked by a hulk of a man and she saw no other option but to speak with him so she could get by, sighing softly she grabbed a wine from a passing servant and approached the man. After tapping his shoulder to get his attention it was only her years of royal etiquette and training that stopped her from being visibly annoyed by his suggestion. "I'm sorry, My Lord, I'm afraid I've had my fill of dancing for the time being and just wish for some fresh air." Her purple eyes narrowed ever so slightly behind her black lace mask while she tilted her head towards the balcony, "Though with you blocking the path that is making my quest something of a difficulty."

"Oh, no idea, you say." His pursed lips curled up in a knowing smirk even as her arms looped about his neck, and that dimple only grew deeper as her lips pressed to his skin. "Of course you would never. How could I even think such a thing. Clearly this was a misdiagnosis on my part. Your insurance will have things to say to me about it."

His arms circled about her. His hands were trembling again; the paresthesia was sending uncomfortable hot needles shooting up his forearms all the way to his fingertips, and he pursed his lips to avoid wincing outright as he closed the embrace.

But he wasn't about to let that ruin the mood percolating between them, and he pushed his face back into the smile he'd been wearing. "So what say we excuse ourselves so that we can review your results once more? We might have to start from scratch. A thorough examination is in order. And you know when I say thorough…"

His left hand opened just enough to allow his index and middle fingers to extend; his right hand swirled a circle in the air, and orange-gold sparks of energy crackled into existence just a few steps behind Ren, spiraling open a hole through space that led directly into the halls of the Sanctum Sanctorum.

"…I mean thorough."

He abruptly lifted her up and swept forward, carrying her fully through the open portal and out of the buzz of Avengers Tower. And as the magical doorway spiraled closed behind him, he slid one hand up her back and into her hair, taking a long moment to look her in the eyes before leaning forward to kiss her properly.

Ren could feel the trembling as his hands touched her back and noticed the way he quickly covered up the pain he was in, she hated it when he did that. Like he felt that he always had to be the strong one between them. Like he always had to hide the pain she knew he was constantly in from everyone, including her. The one person in the world that understood the agony he dealt with on a daily basis better than most ever could.

Closing her eyes as he spoke her fingers trailed slowly from behind Stephen's neck down his arm to lightly rest on both his elbows before emitting a soft purple glow that flowed down his forearms to his hands. While her healing magic was weaker than most due to lack of use she hoped that it was strong enough to offer the man some sort of relief. Even though she knew he'd argue her using the energy on him, say that she should be using it for more important things or saving it for a later time Ren just couldn't let him suffer if she could help him at all.

Feeling the energy flowing at her back the young witches eyes opened and looked at him just as he finished speaking, a small smile played at her lips while her legs wrapped around his waist as he lifted her up. "I wouldn't expect anything less than thorough when it comes to you, Doctor Strange."

Her entire body relaxed in his hold when the magical portal closed after they were through, the sudden rush of quiet and peace she always felt upon entering the Sanctum was a healing balm to her soul. Relaxing in his embrace she made a small noise of contentment in her throat as his lips descended upon hers while she eagerly returned his heated kiss.

Aiden's eyes widened as she mentioned more, the two of them had a playful back and forth for a long time, quite flirty but never did anything about it. He had thought about it but didn't want to put her into a position she didn't want to be in. He watched her walk closer to him, stopping just out of reach. "So you would be okay if I just placed a kiss on your lips?" He questioned, a playful smirk appearing on his lips.

Harley chuckled at his question as one hand came up to toy with the pendant hanging from her neck, a gift from the vampire on her last birthday, while she took a small step forward. "I would be more than okay with a kiss on the lips. . . . I can also be okay with other things as well."

She hadn't intended on telling him her true feelings at all, content to be just his friend even though she longed for more, but there was just something about tonight. Harley knew she ran the risk of losing an amazing friendship but if there was a chance that he could feel the same way? That was worth the risk in her mind.

Thinking of adding a couple of D&D muses to flesh out them a bit before trying them in my server game. I'm a newbie in a very established group and the idea of going in without having tested/gotten a feel for the character is stressing me out.

Any volunteers to help with character testing?

The smile that Edward adopted became easier to wear by degrees as she introduced herself to him on her own terms. He knew well the tales she would have heard, for he'd heard them himself from infancy all the way to his sojourn to the mythical island country. So he knew all too well the fear that she would have carried into this room and into this moment. It pleased him to hear in her voice the relief of the tension he'd seen built up in her frame.

But he was quick to note the pivot of her voice at the mention of bearing children. He was nearly inspired to speak almost immediately into the silent moment following the word 'heirs' just to offer her reassurance that he had no expectations regarding the product of any consummation between them. But he found himself struggling to assemble the words with which to speak his mind with precision and tact. Neither did he want to allow for potentially offending his Queen by somehow suggesting he did not find her desirable or suitable as a mate.

As he sought the proper phrasing, she was already on to taking note of his suggestion of a proper title for her. Though her words might have seemed a faint admonition, the smile that she gave him seemed to bear some measure of approval of his well-intended attempt. He decided that the discourse over children could be set aside, for the moment, in favor of this.

"Milady, as I hope my pallor will attest, I am no native of this land… one scent of my breath is enough for any beast to detect the air of Westeros still in my lungs, its iron in my blood. But I will tell you that I know the symbiotic natives here well, and when the changelings of Klyntar hear word of dragons, they look upon riders and tamers with fear and awe. There is no feature, no quality of a dragon, either here or in Westeros, that these natives would ever consider a disfigurement or a mutilation." His brow knits, conveying the earnestness of his remarks. "Indeed, a queen who bears the mark of dragons would only be elevated in their esteem. Blessed by holy beasts. And after all, is the dragon not the crest of the Targaryen bloodline?"

But he knew he would be foolish not to concede that she would not be expected to remain only on Klyntar, where such respect and admiration would be lavished upon her for the title or the physical eccentricity which inspired it. "Even so… such a title is, at this moment, merely an offering, not a mandate. I would not mantle you with uncomfortable burdens so early in our marriage."

He allowed a beat to pass, but only that long, before his eyes wandered away from her gaze and sought to admire what the firelight insisted upon revealing through the sheer material of her shift. The edges of his mouth tugged outward in the stirrings of another smile. "Please forgive my lack of subtlety, milady… but the moon is not nearly half as luminous as you."

"Even in my own family such a. . . disfigurement isn't something to be celebrated but hidden away." As much as she wanted to believe his words, that the thing she hated most about herself was something to be revered in this kingdom that was now her home, Aemma knew better than to trust someone she had just met hours prior. "I must thank you though for allowing me to bring my dragon to your kingdom; we've enjoyed our time flying along the beaches and getting to know your subjects. The ones we've spoken to speak highly of you and your companion."

Upon hearing that Ser Edward hailed from Westeros himself her smile grew wider as she studied him, the fact that they had both breathes the same air in their youth and tread upon the same soil put her slightly at ease. While their lives had been completely different due to birth and station just the fact that they'd each had the same sun shine on their faces was enough to make some of the tension leave her body as she took a shy step closer to him.

"You speak plainly and without the trappings of royalty, my lord. May I say how refreshing that is?" A faint blush at his compliment stained her cheeks and she fought against the urge to hide behind her long dark hair, she'd had prettier words thrown at her in the past but they had lacked the conviction that shone through his. "I have had some wine and a tray of small things that I have brought from King's Landing prepared since I noticed you hadn't eaten much during the wedding feast if you, or Lord Venom, would like to indulge yourselves before. . . .we fulfill our duties to the kingdom."

I love the fact that Eddie Munson is taking over my dash again
