"Soaking up the sun." Dizzy admits. "It's a bit chilly but still really nice for spring. So I'm enjoying it while I can."

"You four know who your mom is?"
This has to be one of those weird alternate universe things she's heard about. Yeah, something like that.
[text] Okay, I’m bringing coffee. ( cece and elias )
CECE: You are such a lifesaver. Totally nominating you for that best partner of the year award, haha. See you soon!
Of all the days for her to be running late this was by far the worst one she could have chosen to set aside her usually impeccable time keeping for an extra five minutes in bed and everything else just spiralling from their. It seemed the one day that she could have done with everything running smoothly was the same day that her luck deserted her and almost everything from the shower to other commuters conspired against her. The whole situation was nerve-wracking enough without knowing that she’d leave an unfavourable first impression simply for arriving two minutes late as opposed to five early, as was her usual style.
Putting her best foot forward was the simplest way of describing what Cecilia Reese tried to do in every aspect of her life, not just on the ice, so the knowledge that she’d deprived herself of that opportunity today gnawed away at her slightly for reasons deeper than her wanting to impress her new partner. It was always a constant battle to drown out her parents’ voice in her head and continue to prove the both of them wrong and show that she was perfectly capable of managing her own career in her own way without the two of them breathing down her neck or trying to adjust her reactions to situations.
Shifting the weight of her bag on her shoulder slightly, Cece quickened her pace and arrived not a moment too soon at their designated training ground. With the flash of a smile and an ID at the woman on the desk, she hurries towards the rink and begins her apology the moment that she is within earshot of the two men stood there. “I’m so, so sorry I’m late.” Stepping forward, she ensured that there was a smile on her lips as she did, extending her arm out for him to shake once she was close enough. “You must be Elias.”
Nerves didn’t usually get the better of her and yet she could feel them bubbling when she knew just how crucial this conversation could be for the two of them moving forward. “I just wanted to say how excited I am to start working together and also reassure you of my commitment to this partnership.” The words were to practised and formal and she knew it, leaving her sounding far too much like her overbearing mother by the time she was finished. Something of a bashful smile is given and she admits as much. “Sorry, that was maybe a bit much but I just wanted you to know that I intend to give this my all and I’m just sorry it’s not under better circumstances.”
