While they’d managed to hide her pregnancy for a few months now that they were back filming the show it was public knowledge that there was going to be a new baby in their home. Really you couldn’t exactly keep it a secret when they’d written the pregnancy into the show so nothing she wore hid it like with Leo. But it also meant she was sticking to the long hours of filming because they weren’t doing tricks to keep her out of frame or finding a way to send her character away again. So she was excited when she finally got home and could relax. Which included slipping into the shower with her husband. “Finally.” Val repeated as she kissed the back of his shoulder. She let him pull her under the water and leaned into him as her eyes closed. “I love you.” God there was something that really boosted your confidence when your husband called your body sexy when you were almost five months pregnant. “I have a late call tomorrow, we managed to get everything they wanted darkness for done so I don’t have to be there at four tomorrow.”

"But I didn’t need to come here in the first place.” Val pointed out. In her opinion it had been a fluke. SHe’d been on set for a while and had passed out. That wasn’t something that required a visit to a hospital but Knox and few other people on set at the time had felt differently. She’d had a headache for most of the day and ignored it wanting shooting to be over as soon as possible and now she was here. “We do have somewhere to go. He’s home and I’m fine.” A sigh left her when he kissed her forehead before she rolled her eyes. “Oh I’m sure you are. I especially like the one that gave me this.” She lifted her hand slightly and looked at the IV before sighing as she leaned back against the pillows. “It was just dehydration. I said that before we came here.” Clearly she was at least a little right because they did have her on IV fluids while they finished some other tests.

His arm was wrapped too tight around her and Val really was doing her best to keep a smile on her face at that moment. There were too many people looking at them already and it wasn’t helping that Leo had been drinking too much and was making a scene. “Leo please stop.” She kept her voice low as she looked up at him trying her best to keep their conversation between the two of them but it was clear people were looking after how loud he had been. “Can we go home? You’re making things worse.” This hadn’t been something she wanted to do in the first place but both of their teams had said it would be good to go out and make a public appearance together to show that the leak hadn’t damaged their relationship.

What did her mom always say? Nothing good happened after 2:00AM so Val always put her phone on Do Not Disturb when she went to bed. It was one way to make sure no one bothered her trying to get her to go out. Plus if there was an emergency her phone would ring if someone called three times in a row so she knew her family could get to her if they really needed it, or they’d just call her boyfriend. But there never seemed to be a reason for those calls though the constant vibrating noise coming from the other side of the bed was starting to drive her up a wall. If her alarm hadn’t gone off yet that meant it was still before nine and she enjoyed sleeping in when she didn’t have to be at work and he was really ruining that. “Oh my god put your phone on silent.” The brunette mumbled as she reached over and nudged him. After a moment she reached over and grabbed her phone off the nightstand next to her to see what time it was and frowned at the number of text messages and missed calls flashing on the screen followed by a news alert.

Sitting up in bed she clicked on the news alert and her stomach dropped when she was greeted by a smiling photo of herself and her boyfriend followed by the title. “Oh my god.”

sVal had been over the moon when she’d found out she’d gotten the part. Sure it was supporting but she was still in a movie with adult themes and geared towards an audience over the age of thirteen so she was excited to start the project. Until news broke that she wasn’t the only one that was going to be in it. Leo was a big name and she should have expected that eventually they’d put the two of them in something together. Drama sold tickets just like it sold magazines. But Val couldn’t help but hope that their scenes together would be limited so she didn’t have to see much of him. It was bad enough that he was splashed over most tabloids with his flavor of the week while she’d still been absent from socials since their breakup. It kept her out of the spotlight and made it easier to ignore things which she liked. 

But she couldn’t ignore that his trailer was right next to hers and she was going to be seeing quite a bit of him. Sitting back on the couch she opened the script and went over the scenes she’d be shooting that day. It was the first day of shooting for her. and she didn’t want to screw anything up. Not when it was her first role since leaving Disney. Flipping to the right page she stated to read through things but paused at the knock on her door. “Come in.” She called out as she sat up a little straighter with a smile on her face. Only for it to slip when she saw Leo come into the trailer. “Do you need something?”

“God I love the snow.” Really Val enjoyed living in LA and it was perfect for work but sometimes the lack of snow really did get to her. If she didn’t have a near constant filming schedule with the show she would have talked to Knox about moving somewhere with a real winter. Maybe once the show was done but for right now she was happy to have come with him for a photo shoot because it meant they got a few days somewhere quiet. Leo was giggling as he kept reaching out to grab the snowflakes. She smiled down at him before turning to look at her husband. “This would be perfect don’t you think?” Leaning towards him she pressed her lips against his before grinning. “Once I don’t have to be in LA all the time, moving somewhere quiet with a big yard and more privacy.”

No one could ever say that Val and Knox weren’t into each other. It was something that translated pretty well on screen so she wasn’t surprised that his character had been brought back to cause a little drama. So the two of them got to spend a lot more time together recently with him being on the show. What was rare was the both of them working late since things were usually staggered a little to make it easier with Leo. But their son was tucked into bed with the nanny keeping an eye on him at home while things wrapped on set. It was easier that way so they didn’t have to wake him up to bring him back to the house. It also made things like this easier. Most of the crew had wrapped for the night but there were a few scenes that would be filmed on anther part of the set so Val saw nothing wrong with taking her husbands hand and pulling him towards one of the other set ups. “You know, we’ve made out a lot on these sets.” She didn’t need to point out that most of it was just them sneaking off together. “But I don’t think we’ve ever had sex here.”

Val looked down at the papers in front of her and took a slow breath. It wasn’t the first time she’d seen them, the things had been revised and handed to her twice already, but she couldn’t bring herself to actually sign her name. Not with him sitting across the table looking at her, and not with what she knew. It really couldn’t be blamed just on her. They’d both ripped each others clothes off when he came back for his stuff. Now there was a child that was going to get the short end of this stick and it wasn’t fair. Though it was probably less fair that her soon to be ex-husband didn’t know. A wave of nausea hit her and she shook her head. “I need a minute.” Dropping the pen on the table she pushed her chair back and was out of the room before anyone could protest.

Once the door shut she started to pace. “It’s okay. I can do this, just sign the paper. Right?” She stopped walking and put her hand on her stomach. “It’s the right thing to do because we aren’t working and this is good for us. We need to be done before it gets really bad. And it wouldn’t be fair to you.” The sound of the door closing again made her tense before turning back to look at the man standing there. “I said it would just be a minute.”
