There were times - almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - that Chip hated college. It wasn’t the people or the teachers. It wasn’t really the lessons either - no, his trouble stemmed deeper than that. His problem manifested in a lack of concentration, a struggle to understand or get it and most infuriatingly, he just couldn’t do it. He felt lost, out of place and yet as much as he wanted to push, to prove himself to Wonsik and the rest of the gang that he could do this, he just couldn’t and he couldn’t work out why.
But they had paid for it, bought his way into this class without any experience to speak of. He needed to try harder. Was it that his hands just lacked the capability to draw designs or work machines to sew? Did his brain struggle to match up with those kinds of movements? Did he not understand what he was supposed to do? They were all questions that circulated his head constantly and it had reached a point that he needed to find a solution, or fail out.
His solution, he’d decided, came in the form of Max. That was exactly why he found himself searching for his fellow student, darting about campus until he finally laid eyes on him, grinning and waving like a fool as he ran towards him. “Max! Hey, Max! Wait... wait for me! I need you!”
