Douglas smiled. “Oh nothing much,” he said with a coy grin that was, to say the least, uncommon for him. “Just feeling like taking the love of my life out for a stroll, simply to enjoy her company. After everything that’s happened in the past few months, I feel like we should take advantage of this rare down time.” There was of course another reason, but that was for later.

“That sounds like a wonderful idea!” Abby stood up, “Although I have to say, this isn’t really like you, Douglas.” She laughed a little and nudged him with her arm, “I do like it though.”
