there’s a scoff, smirk present as he continues to get ready for the newest arrivals. dazai, while as annoying as he remembers, has yet to break him. yet, obscured from his own awareness,  the god’s mental state is worsening with each day of his former partner’s presence. chuuya convinces himself that it’s the drugs.. ghost didn’t exist and to assume that he wanted this was  ... imposturous. accident or not, he was glad dazai was dead. he held no guilt for the deed done. a god need not apologize to the likes of men.

how long can this power trip last for. how long can he continue to trick himself into thinking this is a fate that he wanted.

oda looks down at him, the thought crosses his minded that it may a bit intimidating, however. the last thing he’d ever want is for his children to believe they’d angered or disappointed him. so, he bends to a squat, now looking up at the boy from where kosuke sits in the chair.

his expression softens, hand resting on his son’s arm in a reassuring manner.

dazai eyed the last of his bandages was set to the side, a pile of dirtied white cloth being swept up in his hands and disposed of to the waste basket not far from his side table. a day full of interrogations had his muscles tense, his shoulders were sore even with the hot shower he’d gotten out of minutes before, his skin still not feeling quite clean enough.

then again, when would it?

❝ chuuya~ ❞ feeling the other’s arms move around him made him hum quietly, though it’s swiftly morphed into a small whine that catches in his throat as his boyfriend’s teeth sink into his shoulder. it does hurt but dazai doesn’t really mind in fact he’s trying to ignore the butterflies in his stomach, and more so than that he’s trying to figure out where the other is pulling him, that is until he feels the soft touch of their comforter under his hands. 

❝ at least let me get comfortable first, ❞ he whined quietly, much preferring when he could lay his cheek against his chuuya’s chest.

it’s seemed to be one of the rare days dazai decided that sleeping in, or at least trying was worth his time, having not bothered to pull himself out of bed yet even with the sun starting to seep through the curtains already even though he was already partially awake.

no, right now he was perfectly content curled up next to chuuya, though the other was already starting to wake up, if all of the movement next to dazai was an indicator.

the feeling of lips on his face isn’t pushed away, in fact he it was more than happy to receive the attention. his good eye opens, mostly hidden by hair he should’ve cut a while ago as he gives a soft hum, especially once feeling chuuya’s lips graze under his right eye, or at least what used to be his right eye, now just an empty socket he kept covered most of the time to avoid having to wear his false eye.

hands came to reach up to catch strands of chuuya’s hair in his hand, letting it loosely thread through his fingers.

❝ surely there are better places you can kiss than the side of my face i can’t even see. ❞ he teased lightly.
