hi jen <3 have you always loved doing things alone? i really want to do more things by myself but there's always something stopping me - fear of looking/feeling out of place maybe? it's silly i know but if you have any tips i would love to hear them! <3 <3 love following you!!
You know, I *have* always enjoyed doing things alone, probably because I consider myself to be a slightly selfish (affectionate) person. Like if I want to do or see something, I want to do it, I'm not waiting for someone else to make it happen! I'm not begging anyone, I'm not cajoling, I'm going--so are you in or are you out? And generally speaking, it has suited me well because a) if someone is in, they're IN, they're excited to do whatever the thing is, and b) if someone is NOT in, they're not there draggin' me down, and neither of us has to worry about it.
Tied to this (and to your ask, I think) is something that's a harsh truth for a lot of people to accept--strangers don't care if you're alone, they don't even notice, I promise they don't give a fuck about who's rockin' up to a concert by themselves or to a museum (how would they even KNOW??), they're not watching you eating by yourself, they're looking after their own life. (Obviously, physical safety is something to consider, but other people's "opinions" because they have no life of their own? Hell no.) The sweet freedom you experience when you decide on a whim to eat somewhere that you just spotted at whatever time you want to drop in, or when you leave a museum early or a concert BEFORE the encore because you're done with it or tired or whatever--indescribable. Give it a whirl and let me know how it goes!
GUYSSS I GOT MY TOP CHOICE INTERNSHIP!!!!
Theo Van Gogh, your hand in marriage sir!
went to the city with my friends, it was nice
Meh solder boi
I have successfully distracted my brother from his rhapsodizing over the Starship Troopers novel by having him explain why Structural Geology is more interesting than Sedimentology (which is apparently 'boring').
Two more hours in this road trip 🤣
🦖🦕🦖!!!
