✍ Favorite thing about writing the muse?
Honestly the fact that shes a doppelganger and I get to sit here and look at the likenesses and differences that nature vs nurture made between her and Katherine. I like seeing the behaviors they share and how they branched off in potential bc of what they had in their lives vs what they didnt.
To me it's like a bitter sweet tale of 'who could I have been if everything had gone differently'
The line "I was you before you even existed" always hits heavy to me for this reason. Bc Katherine used to be Katerina, every bit the super loving compassionate understanding little girl Elena's billed to be and then people forced her to become something else. She had to adapt to survive.
Elena was given a whole different set of tools to adapt for her survival and she came out a completely different person despite having the same ground work as a doppelganger.
It's just one of my favourite things about writing both doppelgangers, even if it makes me a little sad.
