Just randomly decided to make my own pc for shits and giggles and my wife is joining me in making hers but I just fucking /locked the fuck in/and designed (and failed miserably on the first try) and printed housing for it and while I do find it incredibly cute (it’s not at all painted or anything) I kind of want something different but that needs a different screen size :( but I don’t want to take this one apart :(

Like it’s a cloud on a star :( and you can store the mouse keyboard and power supply inside the back and it’s like a cute little tv almost.

The cyberdeck community got me but also I don’t want stuff I’m not going to use??

Idk I’ll post pics of the finished paint probably if I remember I even made this post past my brain fog lmao. It’s got a hella basic raspberry pi 4 kit with a 5” touch screen display, rii keyboard and a mouse I found forever ago at Walmart. I’m going to use a random power bank I have around the house that my wife and I share atm. I did solve the floating space issue with packaging foam and Velcro to hold the pi and screen in place, I’m very new to 3d printing and designing and I’ve only done little trinket protects so far lol

I need whimsy or I’ll die so yes I am scouting every Walmart we stop near for different tamagotchi’s to see if I’d want one they might have

Should I have gotten a tamagotchi paradise for my wife and I while we are desperately broke and moving across country tomorrow on a six day road trip that we cannot afford to escape a hell state that’s making it illegal for her to use the bathroom and for me to vote? No. Did I? Yes. I always wanted a tama and just didn’t because I knew I couldn’t take care of one, but you can hire a babysitter now! And they have a bedtime!

Meet my son, he’s a lick? I love him very much. My wife got this little sprout looking guy but she’s asleep, it’s 5am so I don’t want to wake up her tama by accident lol

We wanted different biomes but they only land land left :( I am not at all tempted to get the pretty orange and pink one btw. Nope.

Ok the raspberry pi community needs like… to chill? Please?

Cyberdecks are fucking so dope. I love seeing all this cool shit. And I could likely be clicking on all the wrong videos because idk the exact search terms for the all mighty algorithm.

But Pi has sooooo much on their actual fucking site itself and system to teach code, make games, music players, websites, so. Much. More. It’s just fucking SO GOD DAMN IRRITATING the amount of gatekeeping that is in the supposed community.

Just ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh anyway. I did figure out a better temporary solution for housing until I get my cloud star thing to work better. Did it take hacking apart the inside of this persons 3d print because idk wtf this person used but it left a lot to be desired fit wise and I’m an angry gremlin who has no issue taking pliers and snips to make things work? Yeah. Am I going to rant more below the cut? Yes.

Here is my pi4 on the back of a 5” screen, with a cheap ass $8 Walmart battery pack under the Rii or something keyboard. An Apple charging cord because it’s what fit leading to the on off switch 🫠 technically everything is within reach… because I made it so… I painted the plastic because I’m extra. I do still use a mouse even tho it’s touch screen because ngl I don’t like the touch screen much :-/

Idk what half the shit anyone is talking about means. I’m brand fucking new, saw a video and thought it was so fucking cool that I wanted to get into it, and if it wasn’t for my wife encouraging me, I wouldn’t have continued through the fucking lack of info for new people to actually figure ANYTHING out.

No, I don’t want to be tracked by anyone, no I don’t want adds on everything I fucking own. That’s what drew me in particularly when I first saw stuff. BUT. How is anyone supposed to learn when “beginner friendly videos” are just ppl using terms that without hours of additional research someone who does not have any experience will understand??

Again maybe I’m clicking on the wrong things. Algorithms are shit. Looking up “beginner friendly” on just about anything is like this anymore.

But ffs. It shouldn’t take actually already owning the damn pi to figure out so much of what is possible. AND PART OF THAT IS PI’S FAULT I KNOW THAT. They should say more on their site. My brain fog can only handle so much fucking advertising.
