Crappy late night photos, but excited to show the first llama shroom pull! I let myself rest this weekend so just got to casting yesterday. I only cleaned up enough to fit it all together btw.
I can't wait to paint them~

Ears and caps all done! The ears on the chanterelle (bottom cap) aren't pegged in since I'll be doing two ear poses if they look good in the end. Going to try to finish the body today or tomorrow and then it's some prep for molding an waiting for good weather!

Ooooo, very nice! This effect looks way more like mushroom gills to me! Though it also looks more challenging and maybe hard to cast?
Well, it’s the same technique just to different scales to get different looks. The one on the left is supposed to be a portobello /button/common mushroom type and I wanted those deep gills. When I give it a wash it will have those nice dark depths.
The other is more paroles/fantasy mushroom and I wanted less dramatic gills both because I didn’t need that depth but also I didn’t want to disrupt the flow. The deeper gills needed to be wider for a sounder mold but also for the effect. The smaller gill can work with the mold because there’s less area for the silicone to be trapped.
Luckily I’ll be casting both of these and the chanterelle so if one appeals more than the other to people there will be choices!
*obviously the second one isn’t done yet, the smaller gills are very tedious
Second cap all gilled up! And better photos of the other since I tend to take photos in the dark of the early morning and those aren't usually the best.
Ears aren't final on either or the details for the body.
