Demonic music and sentient automata are the subjects of the latest releases from the ever-intriguing Nightjar Press. Paymon's Trio I enjoyed for its Jamesian supernatural feel, but the writing in The Automaton is truly superb; Wheldon seems to be one of those writers who were/are quirky, original, briefly-critically-lauded and who then disappeared unfairly into relative obscurity.
