When we first got talking about starting our little side venture which turned into what it is today, I never thought it would get to the point of where we are right now and be nominated for "Music startup of the year" at this years The Music Network awards! We had a vision, a goal, we brushed heads but we wanted to make a few dents in the industry and some people believed in us and a lot laughed at us, but hey it's all good, here we are... and I feel we are just scraping the surface of what's to come! Being uncoordinated af, I maybe got a participation Trophy at the school sports carnival. MAYBE. I also loved to talk in class, so was’nt really the star student of NAPLAN. BUT This week my company has been nominated for music startup of the year. Since starting a digital music company with some amazing people just over a year ago, the ride has been crazy. I went from University lecture rooms to major record label boardrooms. Literally starting out of a bedroom to working with some of the biggest names in music from Grammy recognised artists, to some of the biggest hits of 2017. My team is all over the world. My meeting schedule goes from Sydney, New York, LA and UK. I don’t ever really get an early night, but i freakin love it. It’s so humbling to be nominated alongside some of the biggest names in the Aus Scene right now like Flume, Vera Blue and TK Maidzda. Labels like Universal, Sony and Golden Era records. Agencies kicking ass like Giggedin, Popgun, Audience Republic and Disco. 2017 was crazy but 2018 is going to even better. I dream of becoming the most powerful and influential music company in the world by 2020 and with a team like mine, I don’t see it far off. Friday’s gonna be lit.
