...I wonder what the last movie I saw in theaters was
I haven’t seen a movie the week it came out in so long, which was typical before world events, but damn it’s on the tip of my tongue.
...Oh! It was Yesterday.

"Lock it all away within a book, and throw it out into the sea of the world's population. Use that as your final statement, your final good bye. Your separation from your emotional baggage. Show your survival to yourself, show yourself that you are strong. Unlock the chains that bind your legs and finally allow yourself to be free."
Mani you can be such a damn robot sometimes. BI You and your logic.
I swear one of these days I'm gonna commission art of you as a Vulcan.
I remember how I first discovered The Pierces...
My friends and I used to go to Border books a LOT when we were in school. The cool kids would hang out in pubs or they would go out to town to go clothes shopping, but me and my friends would go to book stores and troll around to see if we could discover anything new.
One time we went, there was a huge sale section near the front of books, CDs, magazines-anything and everything really so I decided to sift through it to see if I could find a bargain. That's when I came across The Pierces's album 'Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge'. The album cover caught my eye to begin with because it was so unusual (Catherine actually designed all the art in the album =')) and it was going pretty cheap and I had cash to spare so I thought, 'Why not?' and brought it since I'm the kind of person who randomly loves discovering new music.
The first time I listened to it, I felt like I'd been whisked back to the 60's because their music is very folk like but also very vintage sounding in a way and it was completely different to anything I'd ever heard. To say I was hooked was an understatement. This album became my driving music for a good year or so and was literally the only CD I could listen to whilst learning how to drive for a very long time as it kept me calm and focused. I guess I have The Pierces to thank for helping me get through that stage of my life when I had little confidence and was learning to drive. I probably needed that calming force behind me then the most to help me.
And this is why I forever encourage people to discover new music, even if it is a genre you don't venture into often because you never know what you'll stumble across. You could potentially find something which helps you or saves you in a way that you need it to the most...
Sat here listening to 'Numb' by Linkin Park right now and remembering the time when I performed a keyboard instrumental piano version of it at Guides. I expected to mess it up because I ALWAYS mess up when I perform, but I didn't and it was amazing. It was probably THE best performance I have ever given because I performed that song with all my heart and love poured into it. At the end of the night, I remember a little boy of about 8 came up to me and told me how amazing it had been and how much he'd enjoyed listening to me play. Then he asked me what the song was and who it was by and I told him. I remember him looking a little perplexed but he repeated the song name and the band name before thanking me and bounding off. To this day, I wonder if he ever looked Linkin Park up, whether he ever discovered this beautiful, heart-wrenching music. His kind words still make me smile even after about 7 odd years.
Musing to Self
Is it just me or does anyone else ever have conflicting thoughts on when to use the 'Read More' button? I know I tend to use it a lot for personal posts and in most text posts because most of the time I just feel as if I'm exploding all over the place or that I'm annoying people, but at the end of the day-isn't this a personal blog? Shouldn't I explode everywhere as much as I want and not care? If that's the case, why do I still use the 'Read More' button so much? A lot of the time I feel like I should just stop using it but then I get all scared about annoying people or sounding as if I'm whinging or something-but I should stop using it right? There are so many people who don't use it!
So the button is useful for hiding excessive text but a lot of the time, people use it to hide personal posts and everyone knows that if you use that button, people are less likely to read what you've written. Everyone says that they read people's 'Read More' posts but come on, EVERYONE has scrolled past at least one 'Read More' post because they've just simply missed it or are too lazy to click the button.
I'm beginning to wonder now if I should use the button or not just to hide all my rambling in this post because-who cares about I'm rambling about? The chances of someone reading a lengthy text post like this is slim so I guess if it's lengthy I should just hide the rest under a read more...
WHAT IS THE POINT IN THIS TEXT POST?!
I think I'll just go back to emailing Crysi all my randomness OTL
