this has been in my mind for a while but I do not think Damian being muslim is the move you all think it is.
and do not come to me saying "well what about his muslim coding?" while yes he was somewhat coded as a muslim character but let us be honest the white writers in dc do not see middle easterners as anything but muslims because they do not understand us or have any capacity to look more deeper than just the stereotypes. (and yes thinking all middle easterners and Arabs as muslim is a stereotype)
I am a big fan of written codes that is sensed without having to be told directly but when a company has so many and I mean so many muslim characters (middle eastern or not) but are never used or are being killed off, why should I care about muslim coded characters who are will never be stated to be muslim?
I want muslim characters to be giving solo's I want muslims to be given respect when written and drawn. and I want muslim people to write about muslim characters and even let them write about none muslim characters (I just want more muslim people in the industry) when that happens to the visibly muslim characters than I will be more interested with coded muslim characters.
the only person who I lied to and agreed that Damian was muslim is my toddler nephew.
