I have a headcanon for muted sounds Vinyl. She sits at Octavia's hooves while she practices, keeping her head as close as she dares to Octavia's cello/bass. She does this because the close proximity allows her to hear the music the best.

Oooh.  I like this one!   But it doesn't quite match this version of Vinyl and Octavia.   Firstly... no, wait.  That's spoilers.  Can't share that particular detail about Octavia yet.  Stay tuned to the blog!  Secondly, Vinyl hasn't suffered any pronounced hearing loss... at least, no more than your typical club DJ does.  She's mute, not deaf.So as cute as that is, and how much I'd love it to be canon... I can't quite justify it, in-character.
