He had seen him before, sometimes he stopped by at :re in Tokyo at times, an investigator that worked with Ken... oh no... he was Haise Sasaki now, right? But the boy he spotted in a dark alley way now did look nothing like the one that laughed and chatted with Haise over a cup of coffee.
The sweet stench of blood and death should have drawn him closer, natural instincts and things like that but actually it was the helpless muttering and mumbling, the desperation and the anger in the boy’s voice that made him move closer to him.
Didn’t he see something like this before? He did. Back then it was Ken who lost control and hurt people around himself, but mostly himself. Renji quietly approached the boy and sat down next to him.
“... this isn’t the best place to be right now, you know?”
“In a dark alleyway in Hive City... but at least you’re not alone anymore.”
