Marquette Basketball Players Give Back With Children's Champion Club
The annual Briggs Al's Run event is an integral part of the Marquette experience, and the Milwaukee community, as the event provides nearly a seven-figure financial boost for the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
For the members of Marquette's basketball teams, Al's Run brings them closer to the youngsters whose lives have been directly impacted by treatment at Children's Hospital - the Children's Champions club.
See the work and hear about the experiences enjoyed by Derrick Wilson, Chelsie Butler, Courtney Thomas, Katie Young and Duane Wilson as part of this unique event.
Brooklyn Pumroy's learning experiences as a freshman last year weren't limited to the typical adjustment to college life, but also included the challenge of being a starting point guard at the Division I level.
She also quickly learned that her personality, in her own words, was "a little bit different from everybody else."
"I am too hyper, and way too excited to be here, I guess," Pumroy said.
There's no questioning her enthusiasm - that was evident in this Project300 piece. This offseason though, one of her goals was to take a closer look at her mental approach to basketball and how she channels that energy.
Find out more about her personality and the offseason work she's done in our latest video piece.
