Wet Tuna - Live at the Root Cellar 1/19/17 (“electric set’)

MAY DAY MAY DAY, IT’S BANDCAMP MONDAY. P.G. Six and Matt Valentine were part of the classic free-folk collective Tower Recordings, and they’ve joined forces again for a new, totally killer project. This recent live tape captures two epic Wet Tuna jammers, with P.G. and M.V. choogling relentlessly, Jim Bliss and John Moloney providing rock solid motorik rhythms, finding the fertile common ground between Canned Heat and Can. Uncanny. Highly recommended stuff -- I’ve been enjoying the electric stuff so much I haven’t gotten to the acoustic set ... but I’ll get there soon.

Bandcamp Monday is back this week with some good news -- NYC Taper has set up shop on Bandcamp. A good thing! 

The details from NYC Taper: Any revenues generated by our Bandcamp page will go directly to the artists (minus Bandcamp and paypal fees). Secondly, all of our downloads offered through Bandcamp will come on a Pay-As-You-Want basis — i.e. we still offer “free” downloads (in multiple formats) and streaming but we would hope that our readers would not abuse that privilege. Support the artists!

There are already some excellent things to check out -- a unique Forsyth/Millevoi duo set from last year, plus a smoky/smoking double bill of MV & EE and Herbcraft, all recorded at Trans Pecos in Queens. Totally cool.
