GRETTA: So... are you going to tell me where you got the hat?

TAZ: Borrowed it.

[pollination-tech]

TAZ: I bet I can just grab some to borrow from this community garden... maybe she knows where I could find some.

GRETTA: I didn’t want to believe her. That’s why I wanted to go home, to see that she was wrong, but if you saw Adia... you’re sure it was her?

TAZ: I’ve never been more sure of anything -- but never mind that. You’re saying our kids are dead?

GRETTA: Not dead, just... gone. Like they never existed to begin with.

TAZ: But they did! And our grandkids, and their kids--

GRETTA: Not any more, apparently.

TAZ: You do?

GRETTA: It’s something Envy said. Everything around us has changed, like time reversed itself, but left us where we are. And that’s why we can’t get in touch with the kids. She said they don’t exist any more.

TAZ: What!?

[pollination-tech]

GRETTA: Taz. I love you. All of us messed up. I’d give anything for a “do-over.” I lost you, I lost my best friend, I pushed you away from Cadence... Wouldn’t you want a chance to try all of that again?

TAZ: Well -- yes, but...

GRETTA: But?

[pollination-tech]

GRETTA: I want to see her. Adia, I mean. Maybe... I don’t know, this is some kind of cosmic test for us, to let us do that part of our lives over and not screw it up.

TAZ: A cosmic test for me, you mean, so I don’t screw it up again.

GRETTA: I didn’t say that.

TAZ: It was implied.

GRETTA: I don’t understand it, either. I didn’t want to believe it. But if Adia is here and she’s alive... then it looks like Envy was right.

TAZ: So what can we do?

GRETTA: Nothing.

GRETTA: Sweetheart... Adia’s been dead for over fifty years.

TAZ: I know how it sounds -- but it was her. We can’t leave, not yet.
