He would never admit it, but Blaise had always kept an eye on Pansy. (As he had many of the Slytherins, but it seemed that Pansy was one of the few he was actually interested in.)The words that came out of the girl’s mouth were not something heexpected to hear. Almost out of nowhere and he wasn’t quite sure whatPansy actually meant by it. And despite the fact that his nerves shot uphe did not let his physicality betray him. He kept a calm stance, his handstrained to keep from shaking, his breath even as if there were nothing inthe world that could ever cause him to waiver in the slightest. It took him a minute to realize that the girl meant her words. Despite the fact that they often flirted, almost competitively, it was something he hadn’tthought she actually considered serious. For he considered it a half-joke butonly a half. In reality, as soon as the words had left the girl’s lips he realizedthat he wanted to kiss her as much as she apparently wanted him to. And so, before he let himself think about it any further, he leaned down andlet his eyes flutter shut as he pressed his lips to Pansy’s. And he wasn’t sureexactly what he felt or thought at that moment. It was supposed to be thatthe world stopped when you kissed a person who you had a special connectionwith. But this kiss was more the opposite, the world didn’t stop, Blaise’s innerthoughts and feelings seemed to be completely stunned. As if someone with a broken wand had cast the stupefy spell on him. And as he pulled away, he felt himself let out a breath as he looked at the girl, his lips pulling into a smirk out of a forced habit.
