~🍰 ~ "Kayla is fine Ichiru, I find it really annoying when people call me by my last name." What was it with hunters and last named? What was it with Japan and last names? People have first names for a reason; but still, she had hoped that Ichiru might stay and talk for a bit. If he didn't want to though she understood, as upset as she had been when Zero stopped answering her calls and letters? And as upset as she had been when she found out Ichiru wasn't actually dead and had just made them think he was? She had been the one to move away.
"Wait, you could stay and wait for him if you want? He shouldn't be to long and I haven't really gotten to talk to you since..."Well; really since she herself had moved away, mostly she'd just sent letters after being sent to America.

~🍰~ Though most wouldn't think he was from his over active personality, Kaien was great at running Cross Academy. His organization skill's however? They left something to be desired, and so well he was out doing something or other she was going through the drawers in his desk and rearranging things. She hadn't really been asked to do it, but when she had asked about it Kaien said that she was more than welcome to if she wanted. And so that's where she was when she heard a knock at his office door.
"Yeah! Come in!" She called, lifting a stack of papers over her head onto the desk before she pulled her self up as she door opened. "Oh, Hi. I guess you were probably looking for the headmaster--was there anything I could help you with?" Her tone was a bit awkward, not that she really meant it to be.
Do you ever wonder if the stars shine out for you? Float down Like autumn leaves And hush now Close your eyes before the sleep And you're miles away And yesterday you were here with me

Why hadn't he let her know he was there? Kayla figured he probably didn't want to talk to her, he never really had many people he was close to when they were young and then she had left him and Zero. She hadn't had much of a choice when her Father had carted her off to her uncles, but she could have fought harder to stay-or at least fought harder to stay in contact with him. So here she was, somewhat PATHETICALLY standing outside of the classroom he was in. Did he want to punish Zero to? Is that why he was going about all of this the way he was? Maybe.
She wrung her wrist as she waited for the class to get out, the words 'Goodbye Kayla' standing out in what seemed like large bored letters across the area where her arm and hand met. It was a simple enough word, and it was the reason that those close to her knew to say something else when they left. Things like 'See you later' and Talk to you tomorrow' were standard goodbyes with her and those she talked to regularly. Whenever someone new came around though? Whenever she heard the words 'Goodbye Kayla' she felt like she was going to choke.
What right did the universe have to mess with her like that? But before the familiar train of thought could get to far out of control, before it cause a spread of panic and anxiety through her she heard a bell ringing and people started filing out of the class room. She saw two heads of silver come out. But it was clear immediately which one of the identical twins was the one she wanted to talk to. "Ichiru! I wanted to talk to you." She told him as she grabbed his arm when he went to walk past her, apparently not noticing her.
Last Words AU
It had been nearly 2 weeks since Ichiru had began taking having lessons with the Day Class, and he still seemed unwilling to listen to her. She didn't remember him being nearly this stubborn and difficult when they were younger, he'd always been so nice happy. Then again it had been a long time ago, she might be remembering things differently then they had been. "Why can't you listen to me? Is the path of some woman who was so bitter that she blatantly ran towards death really so important that you'll let yourself have the same fate?"
She was getting frustrated, why couldn't he see that if he kept up his pushing towards whatever goal he had in mind he was going to end up dead. She didn't want to think about it, what would she do if he ended up saying the words that seemed to get darker and more present as the days went on, the oh so common simple words 'Goodbye Kayla' written across the space where her arm met her hand.
Sure, those close to her knew not to say those words. And new people who noticed then on her arm were careful not to say them, but she'd still heard then more then once. Everytime it made her freeze and her blood run cold, and so she tempted in a way to leave so that she was sure if this ended up causing his death she wouldn't have to hear them. That would mean that the feeling that drew her to him was nothing but platonic, and she still had a chance. "You are going to end up dead if you keep this up."
"I don't know why you keep bothering me about this Kayla, I'm not going to stop what I'm doing. How many times do I have to tell you this?" Ichiru told her as he made his way towards where the coffin of the one his efforts were directed towards was.
"I won't stop until you listen to me! Don't you know how much both Zero and I would miss you?" She was going to continue, and she was going to say more to try and convince him. But he spoke before she could.
"I have things to do. Goodbye Kayla." He told her; causing her to freeze in her steps. It wasn't until he was nearly to Rido that he realized the end of the conversation, looking down at the words imprinted onto his own wrist. 'Don't you know how much both Zero and I would miss you?' and remembered what he'd said.
He knew what those words meant towards her, but they'd come out subconsciously. There was no going back now and no way to take it back. She was right, this path would end in his death.
