So having two kids is harder work than one and I’ve been looking forward to the day Jesse might be able to stay at his grandparents for a night. my dad called up to say he would love to take Jesse to the beach and keep him overnight - I explained it to Jesse and he was excited, he says he won’t miss me and dada because he loves grandad and abuela and he’s so excited. As he left he gave me a kiss and said “it’s ok, I’m big enough for this” but I haven’t spent a night away from Jesse since I was in hospital with Scout and there’s already a Jesse shaped hole in the flat 😭

Being a parent is hard. You need the breaks, but when you get them you spend the whole time worrying about the little buggers. It’s making me realise how lucky and grateful we are to be able to homeschool and keep him close, because one day he’s going to be independent of us and the days are long but the years are short
