Run away with me.
You probably think I’m kidding, but if you could see the smile the thought brought to my face you would know better.
It would be fun. No expectations, no facades. Just you being you and me being me. The quiet adventures we could have, but I would be completely happy just going for a walk with you. Or we can live our wildest dreams of being anyone else, holding your hand the entire time as we stay by each other’s side, no one leading or following.
We could just sit together, you doing what you love and me writing some silly story, or maybe we want to do the same thing, watching something or playing a game or anything at all...maybe you will be the one that sings with me...as long as we’re together I don’t care what it is.
We could just talk, to hear your words in your voice. The way you take your coffee or if you even like coffee, your favorite birthday when you were little, and the Halloween costume you remember the best. What you wanted to be when you grew up and what your middle name is, and which season you like the best. Are you a morning or night person? What do you dream about at night and when you’re awake. You can tell me about anything really. I’ll never tell a soul.
I want to hear your laughter and know what makes you smile, to see your handwriting and hear what my name sounds like on your lips. I want you to Show me what makes you happy, what brings that flicker of joy to your eyes. Share with me what and who you love the most so I can love them, too. It could be just us, or if you have children or pets, bring them with us. That would make me very happy. They’d just more for me to love.
Why did I write this? I really don’t know. I guess I just needed to say this, just in case, to give it to the universe so to speak. I guess my heart won’t give up on hoping that you’re still out there. Whomever you are, I hope I get to meet you one day before my time runs out, but if not, I hope somehow you find this and in your heart you’ll know it was meant for you.
