Enough oddities are piling up by now that I feel confident tossing my hat in the theory ring to say that I think Elizabeth is actually, genuinely, legitimately a troll (or at least has troll heritage)

Partly because it would explain how she's able to withstand Nix's harassment but mostly because I think it would be funny as hell

Also I very much appreciate the (in hindsight quite sweet) detail that Tripe has been talking about his mum every single episode and Hooper has not once commented to offer clarification on the relationship. As far as he's concerned, she was Tripe's mum in the ways that mattered.

I can't believe it took this long for this to occur to me, but this episode has me thinking very hard about the fact that our main cast is a human(?) who's so ostracized from humankind that no one even noticed when she went missing, an elf who's so ostracized from elvenkind that his former coworkers are literally trying to orchestrate his death, a poltergeist who very well may be trying so hard to drive Elizabeth insane because they'll be ostracized from poltergeistkind if they fail...

And I'm wondering what, exactly, Tripe and Hooper's status with goblinkind might be, and why they've been left so isolated here to run such a tiny little office all on their own
