i know sandbina is a really popular ship (and the fanart is great i will always reblog it), but honestly for me i love them best platonically. their bond is really the core of the end of nod krai and to me, its part of what sticks the landing of the "power of friendship" conclusion.
as characters, they both revolve around the need to find a place to belong. columbina felt used everywhere she went and it literally made the world erase her from existence. sandrone spent her entire life pondering the meaning of connection and heroism and finally understood it when she sacrificed herself for columbina. they both took each other for granted until they weren't around anymore and i think that's so emblematic of real life friendship. society puts every other kind of relationship above it, but sometimes its the most special and precious thing you can find. idk i think there's something so special about a platonic reading of their love.
