eventually Benson always caves. even shows up at Randy's if Randy stops asking.

they're good together. and then it's over and Randy's leaving and they both feel terrible about what they did. yay <3

like maybe Benson's refilling the car and Randy comes sadly trodding over from the gas station's store, his arms full of the cheapest snacks and he's already chewing on dry and too-salty chips and when he gets to Benson he says, with his mouth full,

"I wish we had my seventeen thousand dollars with us"

And Benson's so startled by this he turns and spills gas all over Randy's shoes, goes

"Your what??"

Randy shrugs, stepping out of the way, "It's my savings"

"Take those off. How the fuck-"

Randy shrugs again, toeing off his sneakers, "I never used my allowance money, and then i got some for my graduations and then my grandma-"

"Where is it?!"

"Uh- under my bed?"

"Jesus, Randy! What good is it to us there?!"

"Well, I didn't-"

"Shut up. Give me one of those" Benson demands, his hand outstretching after his stomach rumbles loud enough for Randy to hear.

Randy hands over an unopened pack of chips and only half jokingly says "Maybe my mom could wire it to us"

Benson snorts, but then freezes in the middle of opening his chips.

He looks up to find Randy already looking at him like he just had the same realization.

"Wait-"

And that's how they call Randy's mom to ask for a very specific ransom to get her kid back.

And then they use that money to move to Alaska or something like that :)

benson kills sheppard the week before randy starts working at bbb. goes on a bender maybe, misses most of the weeks' work.

so, when he meets randy he is mostly checked out. jess trains randy and it's only the passage of time that snaps benson back to reality.

he comes back to the new kid always looking at him. always trailing his eyes after benson as he mops the dining area. always staring at benson's hands as he flips patties. always letting benson walk ahead of him. always hovering near benson during their morning huddles. always standing behind benson, until he fully closes the doors and they both head to their cars.

so, when benson goes into the freezer to get more meat and finds randy already inside, doing inventory, benson jams the door behind him, asks "what's your deal, huh?"

randy just stares at him.

benson takes a step forward says "you got a problem with me, bradley?"

randy looks down at benson's mouth, shakes his head, stammers "n-no. no problem"

benson levels him with a glare, "you want it then? is that it? im right here"

randy blushes, "umm- I-"

benson rolls his eyes, steps into randy's personal space, pins him against the cold wall, lets his lips hover over randy's and asks "this what you want?"

randy's eyelashes flutter as he nods, and that's the first time benson notices he's pretty, right before he kisses him for the first time.

and that's how benson gets to become obsessed with randy as they're already necking, maybe fucking.

been also chewing on the concept of randy keeping tabs on benson while he's in prison. he doesn't call or visit benson, but he finds a distant relative of benson and impersonates them when he calls the prison and that's how he gets regular updates on benson. until benson escapes. which randy did not anticipate (maybe benson didn't even care enough to want to escape but he just got dragged out as part of someone else's plan). so, randy does what he couldn't before. he drops everything. leaves his old life behind. for good this time. and finds him.

im just obsessed with benson taking randy's little "im not gay" absolutely seriously, but also, being very openly attracted to him and a fag in general. like sure, benson's usually quiet and he doesn't let people in, but he strikes me as a guy who, once you somehow wormed yourself into his life, he's completely unashamed of his sexuality and would laugh at you if you even implied he was strange or bad just based on who he wants to fuck.

benson gets out of prison and when he finds randy, he's dating a woman who's basically female benson. benson maybe tries to do the same for a while, find a new randy, but he can't. it doesn't work, it's stupid. and when he finally shows up at randy's door, so drunk he can't not cry when he hears randy's voice again, he gets an invitation to stay over and finds out the next morning that that woman is as gay as they come and she's just helping randy appease his mom and vice versa
